William Henry Cavendish Cavendish-Bentinck was a British statesman, who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom twice, from 1783 to 1789 and from 1807 to 1809. He was born in 1738, the son of the 3rd Duke of Portland, and inherited the title on his father's death in 1762. He served as Lord Lieutenant of Ireland from 1763 to 1765, and as Home Secretary from 1766 to 1768.
