Rishi Sunak succeeded William Hague as MP for Richmond (Yorks) in 2015. Hague had held the seat since 1989, but stood down at the 2015 general election. Sunak, a former investment banker, was selected as the Conservative candidate in October 2014. He won the seat with a majority of 19,666 votes.
