While working at MGM in 1937, William Hanna met Joseph Barbera, who was an animator working on a different unit. They quickly became friends and eventually became business partners, forming Hanna-Barbera Productions in 1957. Hanna-Barbera went on to create some of the most popular animated cartoons of all time, including The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, and Tom and Jerry.
