Answer

Wollaston was an English scientist who is best known for his work on optics and mineralogy. He was also a member of the Royal Society and a Fellow of the Royal Society. The mineral Wollastonite is named after him, but he did not name it himself. It was named after him by Carl Linnaeus in 1759. Wollastonite is a calcium silicate mineral that is found in metamorphic rocks.
