Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer was an American film production company founded in 1924. The studio was originally known as Metro Pictures Corporation, but was renamed Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in 1927. The company was responsible for producing some of the most iconic films in Hollywood history, including Gone with the Wind, The Wizard of Oz, and Singin' in the Rain.
