Władysław Anders was a Polish military leader who served in the Polish Land Forces after Poland regained its independence in 1918. He fought in the Polish-Soviet War and the Polish-Ukrainian War, and later commanded the Polish Army in the West during World War II. After the war, he served as the Minister of Defence of the Polish Republic in Exile.
