Agha Muhammad Yahya Khan (20 December 1917 – 10 August 1980) was the third President of Pakistan. He came to power after the overthrow of President Ayub Khan by the Pakistani military in March 1969, and was in office until December 1971. Yahya Khan is remembered for his role in the Bangladesh Liberation War, which led to the independence of East Pakistan from West Pakistan.
