Yahya Khan was a Pakistani general who served as the fourth President of Pakistan from 1969 to 1971 and as the commander-in-chief of the Pakistan Army from 1966 to 1972. He was born in 1917 in Sialkot, British India. He joined the British Indian Army in 1939 and served in World War II. After the war, he joined the Pakistan Army and rose through the ranks.
