Answer
The Pugachev's Rebellion was an uprising against the Russian Empire that took place in 1773–1775. It was led by Yemelyan Pugachev, a Cossack who claimed to be Peter III, the deposed Russian emperor. The rebellion was eventually put down by the Russian army, but it had a significant impact on Russian history. One of the most famous works of literature about the rebellion is The Captain's Daughter, by Alexander Pushkin.
