Yevgeny Yevtushenko was a Soviet Russian poet, writer and dissident who was also a publisher. In 1961, he co-founded the publishing house Molodaya Gvardiya (Young Guard) with Konstantin Simonov. The publishing house was known for publishing the work of Soviet dissidents, and Yevtushenko was often criticized by the Soviet government for his work.
