102 hostages were rescued as a result of Operation Entebbe. The operation was carried out by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in July 1976. It was a rescue mission to free hostages who had been taken by Palestinian and German terrorists from an Air France flight that had been hijacked and diverted to Entebbe Airport in Uganda. The operation was a success, and all of the hostages were rescued.
