The coalition consists of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), Parti Demokratik Progresif Sarawak (PDP), and Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP). GPS was formed following the Sarawak state election in 2018, in which the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition was defeated. The BN had ruled Sarawak for over 50 years.
