Sam Mirza (1631 – 1656) was the Safavid prince who later ascended the throne as Suleiman I (r. 1666–1694). The son of Shah Abbas II (r. 1642–1666), he was initially passed over for the throne in favour of his younger brother, Tahmasp II (r. 1666–1679), but eventually succeeded him after Tahmasp's death.
