Life and death is a common theme in Kiarostami’s films. He often explores the relationship between the two, and how they are both part of the natural cycle of life. In his film Taste of Cherry, for example, the main character is contemplating suicide, but he is also drawn to the beauty of nature and the cycle of life and death that it represents.
