Answer
Galland was relieved of his command on January 19, 1945, after a series of disagreements with Hermann Göring. Galland had advocated a more aggressive use of fighter aircraft, and had clashed with Göring over the latter's insistence on prioritizing the use of bombers over fighters. Galland was also critical of the Luftwaffe's performance during the Battle of the Bulge, and Göring believed that Galland was trying to undermine his authority.
