Ahmad Kasravi was an Iranian writer, philosopher, historian and teacher who was assassinated by the followers of Navvab Safavi. Kasravi was a critic of Islam and Shi'ism and his views were seen as a threat by the religious authorities. He was shot and killed in Tehran in 1946.
