Which region did Alexander I gain territory in after the coalition against Napoleon?

  • Finland and Poland

  • Germany and Austria

  • France and Italy

  • Estonia and Latvia

Answer

Following the defeat of Napoleon, the Congress of Vienna in 1814-15 redrew the map of Europe. As part of the settlement, Russia, under the rule of Alexander I, gained control of Finland from Sweden and most of the Duchy of Warsaw from Prussia, effectively expanding its influence and border considerably, particularly in the northwest.
