Answer
After Syriza won the 2015 Greek legislative election, Alexis Tsipras became the new Prime Minister of Greece. He formed a coalition with Independent Greeks, led by Panos Kammenos, in order to have a majority in the Hellenic Parliament. This coalition was necessary because Syriza did not win an absolute majority in the election. The Independent Greeks are a conservative nationalist party, while Syriza is a left-wing populist party.
