Alfonso XII was the King of Spain from 1875 until his death in 1885. He was the son of Isabella II and her husband, Francis, Duke of Cádiz. Alfonso XII had only one son, Alfonso XIII, who succeeded him as king upon his death. Alfonso XIII ruled Spain from 1886 until his abdication in 1931.
