Answer
Andranik left Armenia in 1919 because of a disagreement with the Armenian Government. The Armenian Government was dominated by Dashnaks, who were opposed to Andranik's military leadership and his plans to unite Armenia with Nagorno-Karabakh. Andranik also opposed the Treaty of Sèvres, which he believed gave away too much territory to Turkey. In 1919, Andranik left Armenia and went to live in France, where he died in 1927.
