Anna Hazare is a social activist from Maharashtra. He was born in 1937 in the village of Ralegan Siddhi in Ahmednagar district. He is best known for his work on fighting corruption and promoting rural development. In 2011, he led a hunger strike to demand the formation of a Jan Lokpal, an independent ombudsman to investigate corruption in India.
