Maria Teresa of Austria was the mother of Anthony, the 1st Duke of Wellington. She was the daughter of Maria Theresa, Holy Roman Empress, and Francis I, Holy Roman Emperor. Maria Teresa married Francis, Duke of Lorraine, in 1736. They had 16 children, including Anthony, who was born in 1769. Anthony served as a British general during the Napoleonic Wars and was victorious at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.
