The Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi is an ancient tree situated in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. It is considered to be one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in the world. The tree is believed to be a sapling from the Bodhi tree under which the Buddha attained enlightenment. It is said that the tree was brought to Anuradhapura in the third century BC by the Buddhist king Asoka.
