Aristide Briand was born in Nantes, France in 1862. He was a French politician who served as Prime Minister of France three times and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1926 for his work in resolving the Franco-German dispute. Briand was a member of the Radical Party and was a strong supporter of the League of Nations.
