What was Aung San's occupation in the short-lived, Japanese-backed administration?

  • Minister of War

  • Prime Minister

  • Foreign Minister

  • Finance Minister

Answer

In 1942, Aung San and the Burmese Independence Army (BIA) joined the Japanese forces in their invasion of Burma, which was then under British control. The BIA helped the Japanese to conquer Burma, and Aung San became the Minister of War in the Japanese-backed administration. However, Aung San soon became disillusioned with the Japanese, and in 1944 he switched sides and joined the Allies.
