Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura established three centres of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in his lifetime: one in the United States, one in England, and one in India. The first ISKCON centre was opened in New York City in 1966. The second ISKCON centre was opened in London in 1967. The third ISKCON centre was opened in Mayapur, India in 1970.
