Answer
Anders circled the moon with fellow astronauts Frank Borman and Jim Lovell. The three men were the crew of Apollo 8, the first manned mission to orbit the moon. They launched from Cape Kennedy on December 21, 1968, and spent 6 days in space. They became the first humans to see the far side of the moon, and they also took the first pictures of the Earth from space.
