Enda Kenny is the 14th and current Taoiseach (Prime Minister) of Ireland. He has been in office since 2011, when he succeeded Brian Cowen. Kenny was born in Castlebar, County Mayo, in 1951. He studied law at University College Dublin and worked as a barrister before entering politics. Kenny was first elected to Dáil Éireann (the Irish parliament) in 1975.
