Brian Schmidt is the Vice-Chancellor of the Australian National University. He is a cosmologist and astrophysicist who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2011 for his work on the discovery of the accelerating expansion of the universe. Schmidt has been a professor at the ANU since 1995 and was appointed Vice-Chancellor in 2018.
