C. Rajagopalachari served as the Union Home Minister from 1951 to 1952. He was a member of the Indian National Congress and had previously served as the first Governor General of independent India. During his time as Home Minister, he oversaw the integration of the princely states into the Indian Union and the establishment of the Indian Police Service.
