Theuderic was the eldest brother of Chlothar I. They were both sons of Clovis I, the first king of the Franks. Theuderic inherited the kingdom of Austrasia, while Chlothar inherited the kingdom of Soissons. Theuderic died in 533, and Chlothar inherited his kingdom. Chlothar went on to become the sole king of the Franks in 558.
