Charibert I, son of Chlothar I, ruled Paris. He was one of the four sons who inherited the Frankish kingdom upon their father's death in 561. Charibert's kingdom included the city of Paris, as well as the regions of Aquitaine and Provence. He was known for his piety and his patronage of the arts.
