Queen Clotilde was the mother of Chlothar I, King of the Franks from 511 to 561. She was the daughter of King Chilperic II of Burgundy and his wife, Queen Carataca. Clotilde was a devout Christian and played an important role in the conversion of her husband to Christianity. She was also a strong advocate for the poor and the oppressed.
