Christopher John Reuel Tolkien was an English scholar, writer, editor and translator. He is the son of the philologist and author J. R. R. Tolkien and his wife Edith Tolkien. Christopher Tolkien is best known for his work as the editor and translator of his father's posthumous writings, including The Silmarillion, The History of Middle-earth, and The Children of Húrin.
