Rama VI, also known as Vajiravudh, reigned as King of Siam from 1910 until his death in 1925. He was the son of Chulalongkorn, who was the longest-reigning king of Siam. Rama VI was a moderniser who introduced a number of reforms to the country, including the introduction of a new constitution and the establishment of a national assembly.
