Hana Mandlíková was born right-handed, but she began playing tennis with her left hand because her father, who was also her coach, was left-handed. She was very successful as a left-handed player, winning two Grand Slam titles and reaching the final of another three. She later switched back to playing with her right hand, but she was not as successful as she had been before.
