Daniel Hannan was first elected as an MEP in 1999, representing the South East England constituency. He was re-elected in 2004, 2009 and 2014, and was the Conservative Party's leader in the European Parliament from 2010 to 2017. In 2016, he voted against the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union, and has since been a vocal critic of Brexit.
