Who did Todd Young succeed in the United States Senate, post the general election in 2016?

  • Richard Lugar

  • Joe Donnelly

  • Dan Coats

  • Mike Pence

Answer

Todd Young was elected to the United States Senate in 2016, succeeding Dan Coats. Coats had served in the Senate since 1989, and was re-elected in 2010. However, he announced in 2016 that he would not seek re-election, and Young was the Republican nominee to replace him. Young won the general election, and was sworn in on January 3, 2017.
