Hans-Georg Gadamer was born in 1900. He was a German philosopher best known for his work on hermeneutics, Theory of interpretation. Gadamer's most influential work, Truth and Method, argues that all understanding is fundamentally historical and that there is no such thing as a purely objective interpretation.
