Taurasi played for the University of Connecticut (UConn) Huskies women's basketball team from 2001 to 2004. During her time at UConn, she helped lead the team to three consecutive National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) championships in 2002, 2003, and 2004. She was named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA tournament in 2004 and was a three-time All-American.
