Edgar Rentería was a Colombian-born baseball shortstop who played in Major League Baseball from 1997 to 2012. He was named the National League Rookie of the Year in 1997, and won two World Series titles with the Florida Marlins in 1997 and 2003. Rentería was also a six-time All-Star, and won the Silver Slugger Award in 2000 and 2006.
