The Battle of Pinkie was a major English victory in Scotland during the Anglo-Scottish Wars of the 1540s. The battle was fought on 10 September 1547, near the village of Pinkie Cleugh in East Lothian, Scotland. The English army, led by the Earl of Hertford, defeated a Scottish army led by James V. The battle was a decisive English victory, and helped to secure the English position in Scotland.
