Eleftherios Kyriakou Venizelos was a Greek statesman who served as the Prime Minister of Greece eight times. He is considered one of the most important figures in Greek history and was a key figure in the struggle for Greek independence from the Ottoman Empire. Venizelos was also a leading figure in the creation of the modern Greek state and was responsible for many of its most important reforms.
