The Balkan League was a political and military alliance formed in 1912 between Bulgaria, Greece, Montenegro and Serbia. It was created with the aim of opposing the Ottoman Empire and liberating the Balkan territories still under Ottoman rule. Greece was granted entry to the Balkan League in 1912 after Venizelos helped to negotiate an agreement between the four members.
