Eugene Clarke is an American politician. He is best known for his role in the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Clarke was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and attended Clark College and Emory University Law School. He was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 1972.
