Eric Allin Cornell is an American physicist and a Nobel laureate. He shared the 2001 Nobel Prize in Physics with Carl Wieman for their experimental realization of Bose-Einstein condensation in dilute gases of alkali atoms. He is currently a professor of physics at the University of Colorado, Boulder, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
