Ernst Udet was born on April 26, 1896. He was a German flying ace and Luftwaffe general during World War II. Udet was one of the most successful fighter pilots of all time, with 62 confirmed aerial victories. He was also a skilled aerobatic pilot and helped to develop new aerial combat tactics. Udet committed suicide in 1941 after the failure of the German invasion of the Soviet Union.
