Swedish author Selma Lagerlöf was the first woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1909. Her writing often drew on Swedish folklore and mythology, and she is best known for her novel "The Wonderful Adventures of Nils" (1906-1907), which has been translated into more than 60 languages.
