Félix Tshisekedi Tshilombo is the current President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He took office on 24 January 2019, following the disputed 2018 general election. Tshisekedi is a member of the Union for Democracy and Social Progress (UDPS), the largest opposition party in the country. He is the son of the late Etienne Tshisekedi, who was a leading opposition figure for many years.
