**Twice.** Ferdinand I was deposed from Naples twice. The first time was in 1494 when King Charles VIII of France invaded Italy and claimed Naples. Ferdinand was forced to flee, but he returned in 1495 after Charles' death. The second time was in 1501 when Ferdinand was defeated by a Spanish army led by Consalvo of Cordoba. He was captured and taken prisoner to Spain, where he died in 1516.
